Sherry gets named for catering a September wedding where guests called it the best wedding dessert they had had. Neighbors add that it is clean and dog friendly, with a Pup Cup and water bowls out front.

The menu is the reason: 49 soft serve flavors, hand dipped Ashby's, Dole Whip, ice cream cakes, a sugar free section, and a 5 lb banana split with six bananas that is free if you finish it alone in two hours. Regulars talk about coming for years. But 9 of the 30 newest reviews are one or two stars, and they repeat the same things: a rude reception at the order window, a greeter sending people to windows where they wait 30 to 45 minutes, and sticky floors inside.

   The ice cream is rarely the complaint; the window is. Go on a weeknight, know what you want before you get to the glass, and skip the burger and fries side of the menu.
